The Arduino XBee and IO Expansion Shield is an IO expansion board designed to simplify connecting modules such as XBee, Bluetooth, RS485, as well as various sensors and input/output components to your Arduino.
All Arduino pins are arranged on the board in a standard 3-pin structure (DATA–VCC–GND), allowing you to easily connect sensors and servo motors. You can also power servo motors externally via the Servo Power terminal (5V).
The board includes dedicated standard pins for XBee module connection, and Bluetooth modules can be connected via the APC & BT pins.
The Vin terminal and Vin pins are directly connected to the Arduino Vin pin, allowing the board to be powered with 7–12V input voltage.
For industrial communication, the board features an SP485 Half-Duplex RS485 transceiver, enabling RS485 connections via the onboard terminal block.
Using the RS485/TTL selection jumpers, you can choose whether Arduino pins 0 and 1 are connected to the RS485 line or to the XBee/Bluetooth interface.
