The QTR-8RC Digital Infrared Sensor is widely used in line-following robots and other robotics projects. It features 8 IR LED/phototransistor pairs, spaced 1 cm apart, providing precise line detection.
Thanks to its digital output and fast response time, this sensor is reliable and easy to integrate with Arduino and other microcontroller platforms, making it suitable for high-speed robotic applications.
Unlike the QTR-8A Reflectance Sensor Array, each sensor on the QTR-8RC provides a separate digital I/O output, allowing for individual sensor readings. The LED series is arranged to reduce power consumption, and a MOSFET allows additional sensitivity control or power saving by switching off LEDs.
