The QTR-8A Sensor Array is designed for line-following robots, featuring 8 IR LED/phototransistor pairs spaced 1 cm apart.
This is a Chinese clone version of the QTR-8A.
Each sensor on the board provides a separate analog voltage output. A pull-up resistor is connected to each sensor, and the output voltage varies according to the reflectivity of the surface or the distance to an object. As reflection increases, the output voltage rises.
In addition to line-following applications, the QTR-8A Sensor Array can also be used for proximity or object detection.
