This board is a ±30A ACS715 Hall-effect based linear current sensor developed by Allegro. This version allows bidirectional current input up to 30A. It provides a 5V analog voltage output (133 mV/A) with an error margin below 1.5%.
It is designed for unidirectional input current from 0 to 30A (the stable sensor IC can withstand up to 5 times overcurrent).
The internal conductor resistance is typically 1.2 mΩ, and the PCB is made of 2 oz copper, resulting in very low power loss on the board.
Using a Hall-effect sensor means the IC can electrically isolate the current path from the sensor electronics (up to 2.1 kV RMS). This allows the sensor to be placed anywhere along the current path and used in applications requiring electrical isolation.
By adding a capacitor to the filter pins on the board, the 80 kHz bandwidth can be optionally reduced.
High accuracy and reliability:
- Typical total output error: 1.5% (at room temperature, factory calibrated)
- Highly stable output offset voltage
- Near-zero magnetic hysteresis
The IC sensor can withstand overcurrent conditions up to 5 times.
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +150°C.
Features:
- Current sensitivity: 0.133 V/A (Vcc = 5V)
- Minimum operating voltage: 4.5V
- Maximum operating voltage: 5.5V
- Operating current: 13 mA
