This board features the Allegro ±30A ACS714 linear current sensor based on the Hall effect. This version allows bidirectional current measurement up to 30A. It provides an analog output voltage of 2.5V (66 mV/A) with an error margin of less than 1.5%.
It is designed for current measurement from -30A to +30A, and the stable sensor IC can withstand up to 5× overcurrent conditions.
The internal conductor has a typical resistance of 1.2 mΩ, and the PCB uses 2 oz copper, resulting in minimal power loss.
Using a Hall effect sensor allows the IC to electrically isolate the current path from the sensor electronics (up to 2.1 kV RMS). This makes it suitable for applications requiring electrical isolation and flexible placement within the circuit.
By adding a capacitor to the filter pin, the bandwidth (default 80 kHz) can be reduced if needed. The sensor offers high accuracy and reliability, with typical total output error of 1.5% at room temperature, stable offset voltage, and negligible magnetic hysteresis.
The IC can withstand overcurrent conditions up to five times, and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
