This board is a ±15.5A ACS711EX Hall-effect based linear current sensor developed by Allegro Microsystems. This version allows bidirectional current input up to 15.5A. It provides a 3.3V analog voltage output (90 mV/A) with an error margin below 5%.

It is designed for bidirectional input current from -15.5A to +15.5A (the stable sensor IC can withstand up to 5 times overcurrent).
The internal conductor resistance is typically 0.6 mΩ, and the PCB is made of 2 oz copper, resulting in very low power loss on the board.

Using a Hall-effect sensor allows the IC to electrically isolate the current path from the sensor electronics (up to 2.1 kV RMS). This enables the sensor to be installed anywhere along the current path and used in applications requiring electrical isolation.

By adding a capacitor to the filter pins on the board, the 100 kHz bandwidth can be optionally reduced.

High accuracy and reliability:
  • Typical total output error: 4% (at room temperature, factory calibrated)
  • Highly stable output offset voltage
  • Near-zero magnetic hysteresis
The IC sensor can withstand overcurrent conditions up to 5 times.
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C.

Note: This sensor is designed for input voltages up to 30V. Using higher voltage levels may be hazardous.

Features:
  • Current sensitivity: 0.009 V/A (Vcc = 3.3V)
  • Minimum operating voltage: 3V
  • Maximum operating voltage: 5.5V
  • Operating current: 4 mA
  • Weight: 1.0 g
