This rotary encoder is part of a series that can provide selectable pulses per 360° (50, 100, 200, 300, 360, 400, 600 pulses). It is capable of detecting rotation direction. It normally operates at 2000 RPM, with a short-term maximum speed of 6000 RPM.
It has been successfully used in simulator steering systems, textile machines, and many other projects. The encoder features AB two-phase output, and pulse counting is achieved via a rotating slotted disk and an optocoupler.
