The MQ-6 Gas Sensor is designed to detect LPG, isobutane, and propane gases in the range of 300 to 10,000 ppm, making it suitable for gas leakage detection applications.
Like other MQ series sensors, it provides an analog voltage output proportional to gas concentration.
To ensure accurate measurements, the sensor’s heater pins (H) must be supplied with 5V to properly warm up the sensor. Applying 5V to either A or B pins enables the sensor to output an analog voltage through the remaining pins.
The sensitivity can be adjusted by selecting an appropriate load resistor between ground and the output pin. This resistor value depends on the application; a 20 kΩ resistor is a good starting point.
