Compared to similar sensors (MPU-6000 or MPU-6050), the MPU-6500 supports both I2C and SPI communication. It features a 32 kHz gyroscope update rate and a wider gyroscope signal bandwidth. It also consumes less power and is more sensitive to vibration.
