The HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor is designed to detect living motion in an environment. This compact sensor module can be easily used in electronics, robotics, and hobby projects, and is compatible with Arduino and many other microcontroller platforms.
This digital-output module provides a logic LOW (0) when no motion is detected and a logic HIGH (1 / 3.3V) when motion is detected.
The sensor features two onboard potentiometers:
- Sx Potentiometer: Adjusts the detection range between 3 and 5 meters
- Tx Potentiometer: Sets the duration the output pin stays HIGH after detecting motion
