These cylindrical brushed DC geared motors are available in a wide range of gear ratios and with five different motor options (two power levels for 6V motors and three power levels for 12V motors). All geared motors share the same 25 mm diameter housing and 4 mm diameter gearbox output shaft, making it generally easy to swap one version for another if your design requirements change (although the gearbox length tends to increase with the gear ratio).
These types of motors can typically operate above and below their nominal voltage (they can start rotating at voltages as low as 1V); however, lower voltages may not be practical, and higher voltages can negatively affect the motor’s lifespan.
